I have had a lifetime association with horses starting from an early age. I have been involved with Pony Clubs, hunting, showing, and later on, competing in dressage with my beautiful Anglo Arab, affectionately known as Snoopy.
Through my school and teenage years, I pre-trained my father’s racehorses on the beach in preparation for race training.
From an early age I was always rescuing animals, mainly horses, much to my parent’s dismay! Animal rescue is still an important part of my life today, with many rescued animals sharing my 20 acre property, along with my 18 miniature horses.
My stud was established in 1998 when I purchased my first two miniature horses. I’ve since developed my miniature horse herd over the years to the stud I have today, made up of quality AMHA and NZMHA miniature horses.
I purchased my first AMHA stallion, Bluegables Monarchs Dynasty, who won the 2001 National Supreme Champion and foal of the year. I now stand three AMHA stallions who cover my own mares plus a limited book of outside mares.
Milenka Miniatures is situated just five minutes off the main highway, with a breathtaking view over the coastline of the beautiful Bay of Plenty. With its temperate climate, mild winters, and accessibility to all main centres, this area is perfectly suited to breeding and raising miniature horses.
